The process begins with a consultation at your home. At this appointment we will learn about you, your home and your needs. Next we schedule a meeting at our office giving you the opportunity to learn more about SCAL Home. At this meeting, we introduce you to our Design/Build team, discuss preliminary design ideas for your project, and review our Design Phase Agreement. Before you sign the Design Phase Agreement, we will all agree on the scope of the work and a realistic price range for us to build your project.
Once this agreement is signed, our designer and estimator will work with you to create a design that fits your needs and budget. We will accomplish the following in the preliminary design phase:
Review Boards:
Many neighborhoods in the metro area require approval from an independent review board. We will guide you through the process and prepare all drawings and applications needed for submission as part of the Design Phase Agreement. If you would like us to represent you at the meeting, there will be an additional charge for this service
The Build Phase includes both the completion of drawings, including engineering, needed for construction and the actual construction of the project. The contract is based on specifications, selections, and price detailed in the final pricing from the Design Phase Agreement. The following steps will be taken once the Build Phase Agreement is signed:
Construction:
SCAL will complete your renovation from start to finish in an efficient manner, while maintaining close communication with you through regular meetings, updates, and walkthroughs. We will assign a Project Lead to manage the day-to-day construction and respond to issues as they arise. The Company Owners and the Designer will continue to supervise your project throughout construction, primarily to monitor quality and design intent.
Financing:
Although we do not provide financing, we can recommend lenders familiar with the remodeling process. We suggest that you begin addressing any financing needs/options early in the project and secure financing before signing the Build Phase Agreement.
